Filamentosa Barb (Dawkinsia filamentosa)

The Filamentosa or Filament Barb is a larger-growing and colorful species ideal for a large community aquarium. These generally peaceful barbs are endemic to Southwestern India and Sri Lanka, and will do best with other semi-aggressive and similarly sized fish. As they mature, the male Filamentosa Barbs will more vivid coloration and the distinctive elongated filaments on the dorsal fin.
