The African clawed frog, also known as simply Xenopus, African clawed toad, African claw-toed frog or the Platanna is a species of African aquatic frog of the family Pipidae. Its name is derived from the short black claws on its feet. The word Xenopus means 'strange foot' and laevis means 'smooth'.

This was my first time ordering from this website. I had bought two African Clawed Frogs. Gave me three size options and I went with small. Shipping was reasonable price due to the safety of the frogs arriving alive. They give you three shipping options, all up to you to decide on which you want to go with. I was even surprised that they shipped the frogs a day early which was great. The frogs were a lot bigger than what I expected, but that didn't bother me. I've bought aquatic critters before from other places online, but the Danbury crew really outdone themselves with the packaging. The frogs were super secured with about three layers of packaging. On top of that, they were in two individual bags with enough breathing room. Early package arrival + Super Secured Package + No DOA = Content Costumer. If I didn't live all the way in the BX I would've went to CT just to really embrace the aquatic life they have at this store. Definitely buying from here again!
